The music program of The Universalist Church involves people of all ages and seeks to enrich our worship through the transformative power of music. Our four choirs perform a wide variety of music in services and offer special events and concerts throughout the year.
Adults and teens who would like to participate in the music ministry at the church may choose to join any/all of the following ensembles: the Universalist Church Choir, the Folk Heritage Singers and the Universalist Bell Choir.
Younger members of the congregation are invited to join the Children's Choir. The Children's Choir is open to individuals in grades 2-6. Please contact our Director of Music, Theodore, for more information.
Universalist Church Choir

The Universalist Church Choir is the primary leader of our musical worship, performing a wide variety of music and contributing to at least one service nearly every Sunday of the church year. The Universalist Choir is non-auditioned; no prior singing experience is required.
Folk Heritage Choir
The Folk Heritage Singers is a rotating group of individuals that performs folk music at services about 6 to 8 times per year. All are welcome to join this group at any time. Suggestions for repertoire are always welcome!
Universalist Bell Choir
You can be part of this fun ensemble playing as a single instrument. With our wonderful White Chapel handbells, the Universalist Bell Choir contributes music to services 6 to 8 times over the course of the year and occasionally performs at venues outside of the church. Bell Choir membership is open to individuals 12 years of age or older. The ability to read music is not necessary. Our Director of Music, Theodore Hine, and experienced bell ringers will help new members master ringing technique and music fundamentals such as rhythm and note-reading. We rehearse almost every Sunday from 12:30 to 1:30 PM in the choir room. If you have never rung a handbell before, come to the choir room and give it a try!
Children’s Choir
The Children's Choir includes singers in grades 2-6 and contributes music to services a handful of times over the course of the year; usually on important celebratory liturgical days. Twice a year, the Children's Choir serves as the primary leaders of musical worship; the Christmas Pageant and Children's Sunday in May both prominently feature the Children's Choir. The goal of the ensemble is to give the children of the church the opportunity for musical and spiritual expression.
